The Grønsund Ferry

Right next to Restaurant 108, along the Christianshavn Canal, is the Grønsund ferry;
a beautiful old boat which has been restored and transformed into a venue fit for
celebrating events of all sorts.

The Grønsund ferry is the last wooden ferry to be built in Denmark. It originally sailed as ‘Pinen and Plagen’ in the Limfjord between Salling and Mors in the Northern/Western part of Jutland. It was taken out of service in 1976 when the Sallingsund bridge was inaugurated. In 1978 it was renamed ‘Grønsund’, and the ferry then sailed between Stubbekøbing and Bogø in the Southern part of Zealand. In 2002 it was sold to Niels Pedersen, who in the following years restored it and converted it into rooms for banqueting.

Choosing the right venue for your next party or event is a crucial step, and it’s important to set the right mood. Here on the Grønsund you get the full experience of being at sea, while staying close to the 108 and enjoying food, drink, and service from our team.

Service and food: We will tailor the menu and service exactly to your needs. You have only one contact person from start to finish.

The venue: Grønsund has 200 sqm, which can seat between 20 – 100 people either at long tables or round tables. Located a 10-minute walk from both Christianshavn’s metro and Kongens Nytorv’s metro, there is also the possibility of arrival at Grønsund via the canal cruise boats in Copenhagen. The ferry has a roof terrace where the welcome drinks can be enjoyed if weather permits.

If you are a bit under the recommended minimum (or a bit over the maximum) please do get in touch with us anyway, as we will probably find a solution that suits your needs.

Technical equipment: The venue has Wi-Fi as well as music systems, so you can connect your own music quickly and easily. There is also AV equipment in the form of projector and screen as well as a white board.

So, if you are going to have a wedding, confirmation, Christmas lunch, reception, product launch or similar, then we have the venue for you!
